What’s the most common questions our Florida remote notaries get asked during a remote notarization?

August 2, 2022

Prior to a remote notarization, each signer who is not personally known to the notary MUST complete an online identity screening.  Our signers often ask if the information obtained is secure such as each signer’s social security number, phone number or other private information.  The answer is “yes”.  Any information obtained during the online identity screening is not shared including with your notary.  The notary does not have access to the information the signer provides during the identity screening process.

During the remote notarization, signers regularly ask the following two (2) questions:

  1. Do I need to print and sign the document in front of you? The answer is “no”.  All our documents are signed electronically in accordance with Florida Law.
  2. When will I receive my fully executed document? The answer is “Directly after the notarization is completed OR once paid.”

Post remote notarization, signers will email us to ask us for the original signed documents.  These documents are emailed directly following the remote notarization.  There are three (3) methods each signer may use to determine the document emailed is an original. (1) The document will be a locked PDF and CANNOT be altered; and (2) The document will have a cover page with a barcode that acts as a certificate of authenticity; or (3) The document will have an indication symbol next to each electronic signature.
